Face Media is not taking on work yet. The services and project types below describe what this studio is being set up to do. None of it is a completed job for a client.

Look like yourself, on a good ordinary day

Headshots, founder films, speaker reels and profile pieces for people whose face is part of their work. Sessions are run at a pace that lets you settle, because the frames worth keeping are the ones after you forget the camera is there.

Portrait
A partner who hates being photographedThe brief this studio is built for. A longer session, fewer setups, a conversation running throughout, and we stop when there are frames the person will genuinely approve rather than when the hour is up.
Founder film
A founder explaining the business in their own wordsWhat most early companies need before they need advertising. The interview is recorded properly, the filler is cut, and what remains is the explanation the founder gives in person when it goes well.
Speaker reel
A first reel when nobody has filmed you yetThe awkward stage. You speak well, but there is no footage to prove it. We shoot a piece to camera at speaking length, build it against slides and title cards, and it holds the spot until real stage footage exists.
Profile
A leadership page where everyone finally matchesThe brief that arrives when a leadership page has been assembled one hire at a time: portraits from a different photographer, in a different decade, against a different wall. One session, one light, one background, and a page that reads as one organisation.

What we do

End to end, or any part of it.

Headshots and portraits

A working set for the profile, the byline, the board page and the media kit. The same person in all of them, lit and framed so they still match each other in a year.

Founder films

A short film where you explain what you do, straight to camera. Interview led, lightly prepared at most, and cut so it sounds like speech rather than a brochure being read aloud. One film about the person, not a running series for a feed.

Speaker reels

The couple of minutes an event organiser watches before deciding. Stage footage where it exists, a clear line on what you talk about, and no music bed doing the work your delivery should do.

Profile writing

Your bio at short, medium and full length, written from an interview and kept in your voice, ready for conference listings, panels and the person introducing you.

Personal brand set

Portraits, cutouts, a short film and the words, delivered in the sizes each platform wants, so nothing important gets cropped out by someone else's uploader.

Refresh sessions

For people who already have a good set and need it updated after a new role, a new look or a rebrand, matched deliberately to what already exists.

About

Most professional photos fail the same way. They are technically correct and they do not look like the person. A face held in a smile for too long stops reading as a face, and everyone who knows you can tell. Face Media is built around the opposite approach: fewer setups, longer sessions, and a conversation running the whole time, so that what we keep is you mid sentence rather than you posing.

We are built for people whose credibility arrives in the room before they do. Founders, partners, clinicians, academics, consultants and anyone who has to stand up and be believed. One session can produce the portrait, the short film and the words that sit underneath them, which is simpler to run and far more consistent than collecting those pieces from three different suppliers over two years. Face Media is a studio of SUKH SANDHU PTY LTD, based in Melbourne.

Questions

I am not photogenic. Is that a problem?

Most people say this about themselves, and it usually means they have only ever been photographed badly and quickly. Being at ease takes time, so time is built into the session. Nothing is delivered that you have not chosen yourself.

Do I need hair and makeup?

It is not required. It does help under lights, and it helps a group look consistent, so we will tell you plainly when it is worth arranging and when it would make no difference.

How much retouching do you do?

The temporary goes and the permanent stays. Spots, stray hairs and a twisted collar are removed. Lines, scars and the shape of your face are not, because the whole point is that you look like this when you walk in.

Can you photograph a whole team?

Yes, and it is worth doing in one visit. Adding a new portrait to an old set can be matched, but it is never as clean as shooting everyone under the same light on the same day.
